Research Focus

Hazlin Hazrin-Chong is a microbiologist and faculty member at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She received her BSc in biotechnology and PhD in environmental microbiology from the University of New South Wales.

Hazlin seeks to fundamentally understand the roles and dynamics of microorganisms in diverse environments, including in mangrove ecosystems and urban/industrial wastewaters. She plans to utilise the resulting data to develop biotechnological tools to address global issues concerning sustainability and climate change.
