Dr Antonia Canosa is a social anthropologist with the Centre for Children and Young People at Southern Cross University, Australia. Her research focuses on children’s rights, wellbeing and safety in the tourism industry. Antonia’s previous work and research experience have developed her expertise in community wellbeing, with a particular focus on the wellbeing of children and young people. She works at the intersection of childhood studies and tourism studies to advocate for children’s inclusion in tourism research, policy and planning to achieve socially and environmentally just communities. Antonia is a qualitative researcher who employs ethnographic, participatory and visual methodologies in order to privilege young people’s voices. Research interests include: children’s rights and participation, ethics, anthropology of tourism and youth cultures.
