Esma’s research interest is the photophysics of perovskite solar cells with different electron and hole selective layers. She focuses on understanding charge carrier generation, transport, and recombination processes in perovskite absorber layer and perovskite/selective layer systems in single-junction and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. During her postdoctoral studies, she mainly focused on nip perovskite/silicon monolithic tandem solar cells and significantly contributed to the development of nip perovskite/silicon tandem baseline as well as bifacial tandem device fabrication and their measurement protocol.
